Alberto Penagos - Mexico City, Mexico, 1988.

alberto penagos miniBorn on October 22nd 1988 in Mexico City. He obtains a Bachelor degree in graphic design at the Universidad Internacional, Cuernavaca, Morelos México. In 2005, Alberto Penagos met Jesus Aguirre, who became his first mentor in art appreciation and later on, Aguirre introduced him to a diversity of artistic techniques and to choose the right materials. There is a clear influence from tenebrism artists as well as inspiration from renowned contemporary artists for example Rafael Cauduro with whom he had worked in the mural series "Siete crímenes mayores" entrusted by the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico. 

He has been invited to participate in a wide range of collective art exhibitions in the state of Morelos, Mexico City and abroad, some of the most important ones being: Collective fall and summer exhibition at Casa Estudio de David Alfaro Siqueiros "La Tallera ( Cuernavaca, Morelos 2008 and 2009). "Arte y Locura", art gallery ARTDICRE in Mexico, City with master Francisco Toledo (2011), the collective exhibit "Nuevos Valores IV" participated in a collective exhibition given the Selective Award of drawing, Antonio Del Rincon (Madrid, Spain 2013), and an individual exhibition "Violence Against Women" at the Museo de la Ciudad de Cuernavaca (Cuernavaca Morelos, 2015), among others.
His work has been promoted by some of the best art galleries in Mexico and Spain. His work is part of several collections such as the gallery curator Guillermo Sepulveda (Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico) who has some of his work.. His work has been mentioned in several occasions in newspapers from Mexico and Spain and most recently Alberto was awarded with a scholarship in the "Barcelona Academy of Art"due to his brilliant and inspired participation in the portrait contest "Moodportrait" (Barcelona- Madrid, Spain, 2013), was selected in "Figurativas 15" award organized by the Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno (MEAM), Barcelona España. Since 2014 is active member in Fundacion Arcilla with important contemporary masters as Dino Valls, Antonio Lopez Garcia, Eduardo Naranjo, Manuel Franquelo, among others.
