Flores graduated from the National School of Plastic Arts at Mexico’s National University (UNAM) with an honorific mention in the Visual Arts. One of Mexico’s more internationally renowned artists, he has won numerous scholarships and residencies and has been a member of the National System of Creators set up by the National Endowment for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) since 2010.

Founder of La Curtiduría and Taller Gráfica Actual in his native Oaxaca, Demián takes a critical, contemporary approach to the reinterpretation of the traditions of the Zapotec people, weaving a living tapestry by blending cultural references to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec with analogies of the urban milieu where he was raised and forged his career as an artist.
