jose antonio gurtubayJosé Antonio Gurtubay graduated as an architect at Universidad La Salle in Mexico's City. He also has a MFA on Visual Arts by the National Autonomous of Mexico (UNAM), and a Specialty in Higher Education Teaching by Universidad La Salle. He was a member of the Coordinating Committee of Research at Universidad la Salle (1986-1989). He has been teaching at the Mexican School of Architecture, Design and Communication at Universidad La Salle (1985- present).

Since 1985 he had participated in more than 100 collective exhibitions and 28 individual exhibitions in México, USA, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Germany, Italy and Spain. Some of his most important exhibitions are the V Fellbach Triennial. Germany, (1992); the First International Object/Toy Biennial. Museo de la Ciudad de México, (1995); the 58th Art Fair. Modena, Italy, (1996) and in The Museum of Flight. Seattle, Washington, USA, (1998). Some of his artworks are part of different collections such as Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Hispano-Mexicano. Alagón, Zaragoza, Spain, Papalote Children's museum. Cuernavaca, Morelos state, Mexico, Papalote Children's museum. Mexico City, Ralli Museum. Geneva, Switzerland and Caesarea, Israel; Punta del Este, Uruguay. He had made monumental artworks such as Madre naturaleza, height 420 cm. in Museo Muros (Museo Papalote, Museo del Niño), Cuernavaca, México and Nocht, height 380 cm. in Vail Colorado, USA.
