She obtained a first degree in Graphic Communication Design at Mexico City's Metropolitan University (UAM, Xochimilco campus). As an unregistered student, she attended Ignacio Salazar's Production Workshop at the National School of Plastic Arts (National University, UNAM). She has taken part in national and international exhibitions in Switzerland, Canada and the United States. She also received the Jóvenes Creadores (Young Creators) Grant from the National Endowment for Culture and the Arts (FONCA, 1995-96), and an honorary mention in the II Bienal de Nutrición (1997). 

Virginia’s work is exhibited at the American British Cowdray Medical Center, the office of Mexico City Notary Public No. 7, Dalinde Medical Center, San Ángel Inn Sur Hospital and Interlomas Golf Club. She has held several solo exhibitions at Casa Lamm: Semillas (Seeds, 2011); Inscripción de lo Sagrado (Sacred Inscriptions, 2009) and Tres Veces Tres (Thrice Three, 2005). She also participated in the 11th Bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo (2002) and in Zona MACO Monterrey (2010).
