Javier Cruz paints from an inner place, driven by an overwhelming need. This and his many other exhibitions point to a detachment from artistic tendencies, an aloofness that makes him stylistically unclassifiable and theoretically independent, which is a triumph in and of itself.
In his work, the artist explores the relationships between beings and entities through images that inhabit our everyday imaginary. His subjects enjoy an organic freedom and autonomy, at once playful and lyrical. It is this point of interconnection that interests him, because it speaks to the ties that bind us.
